A 24-hour Liveathon to fund a year of local mental health and wellbeing support

This January, we’re raising funds to deliver Wellbeing Wednesdays at the Citizen Hub in St Neots for a full year.

We’re launching with a 24-hour Liveathon on Blue Monday, turning one of the toughest days of the year into something positive, practical and community-led.

This is about St Neots showing up for itself.

What are Wellbeing Wednesdays?

Wellbeing Wednesdays are our weekly health and resilience day at the Citizen Hub.

They are not a one-off event or a short-term project.
They are a consistent, trusted rhythm in the town where people can drop in, reset and rebuild.

People come for different reasons:

Because money is tight and they need a warm breakfast

Because they’re lonely and need community around them

Because anxiety is rising and they need someone to talk to

Because they want to feel healthier but don’t know where to start

Because they care for others and have nothing left for themselves

Wellbeing Wednesdays give people:
A place to be.
A place to breathe.
A place to take the next step.

What your donation funds

This Liveathon is raising money to fund one full year of Wellbeing Wednesdays at Citizen Hub St Neots.

Your support helps deliver weekly activity including:

Free school meal breakfast clubs

Community meals

One-to-one counselling

Mental health and confidence programmes

Nutritionist-led support

Health and wellbeing activity shaped around local need

Every element is designed to reduce anxiety, build resilience and prevent crisis, not just respond once things have gone too far.

Every pound you give becomes a week of wellbeing for someone in your town.

Why a Liveathon on Blue Monday?

Blue Monday is often labelled the hardest day of the year. Winter fatigue, money worries, isolation and stress all collide.

For many people in St Neots, this isn’t a headline. It’s real life.

So on 19 January, we’re doing something different.

The Citizen Hub will become a live studio for 24 hours, streaming conversations, creativity, lived experience and moments of connection from the heart of the community.

Every session helps fund a full year of wellbeing support.

This is a community fundraiser and a community statement.
We are choosing to show up for each other.

Why Citizen Hub?

Citizen Hub exists because communities deserve better than being passed from service to service like a maze with no map.

We build trusted, neutral spaces where people can walk in, be welcomed, and leave with real next steps.

In our first year in St Neots, the Hub has:

Engaged thousands of local residents

Supported hundreds into skills, support and employment pathways

Built trust as a place that feels human, safe and accessible

The Liveathon is co-hosted by Alex Hughes, co-founder of Citizen Hub, and Danielle Bridge, CEO of Black Minds Matter UK and founder of ABC Life Support, bringing lived experience and national expertise into a local space.

What success looks like

Over the next year, success looks like:

More people feeling less alone

Families with a stable weekly anchor when life feels heavy

Earlier mental health support instead of crisis intervention

Stronger routines around nutrition, confidence and wellbeing

A Hub that is open, trusted and growing

None of this happens without community backing.

Did you hear we are opening a new location?!

We’re excited to share that Citizen Hub is opening a new location in Wimbledon, South West London. Building on what we have learned in St Neots, this hub will bring the same trusted, citizen-led approach into an urban borough context, creating a welcoming space where people can access support, build skills, improve wellbeing, and connect with local opportunities. The Wimbledon site is being developed with local partners and community voices from the start, so it reflects the needs and energy of the place it serves.

We are holding an open day on 21st January for anyone who wants to see the space, meet the team, and hear more about what is coming. If you are interested in getting involved as a citizen, partner, volunteer, or supporter, please email wimbledon@citizenhub.co.uk and we will share details and next steps.
